Self Optimising Web Pages

Friday, March 5th, 2010

If you need to increase website conversion rates then you ought to begin experimenting with different copy because your page copy will have the biggest impact on your overall profits. Powerful, channelled copywriting that positively promotes your products or services clearly and addresses all the classic objections will beat badly written, unchecked, unfocused and badly presented copy.

But the process of copy testing is not quite as simple as it ought to be. And this is a barrier to implementation. Ask virtually any internet marketer about the value of good copywriting and they’ll tell you it is essential to success. But few of these people actually actually get round to doing it.

Why?

Because it is hard. However, there’s some new technology about now called Darwinian HTML which does copy testing for you automatically. Better than that, it reacts to the results of tests in such a way that your website evolves to get better and better at converting as time progresses. The way that evolving, or Darwinian HTML, works is via a clever feedback mechanism. Every time some copy is displayed it either generates a conversion or it doesn’t. If you get a conversion, then the copy that was displayed is given a vote of confidence. Conversely, if copy fails to get a conversion it gets a negative vote.

Over time some copy will clearly outperform other copy and a feedback system ensures that, as data comes in, the most effective copy gets displayed more and more which results in your HTML evolving to become fitter as a conversion machine.

The value of increasing web conversion rates is huge and you can actually find a punchy little training course about it on on ReallySimpleTesting.com. One of the most interesting things you can learn there is how just tiny changes in website conversion rates at various stages in the purchase funnel can make a huge difference to the amount of money you make.

Keeping My Feet Dry In My Hoser Classic Muck Boots

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I am unsure how you feel, but by this time of the winter I’m usually wanting to stop playing penguin and let every bit of the snow melt off. Being required to work outside is made for the birds-by this I am discussing the penguins, not the smart birds that fly south in the winter. I was forever struggling to discover a way to keep my feet warm. Luckily, an incredibly kind friend introduced me to Muck Boots. I got some Hoser Classic boots, and since then I am complaining about the cold a lot less. That is good, because it doesn’t seem to be going away. What’s all this science buzz global warming, anyway?

Muck Boots are completely waterproof and warm. The Hoser Mucks model also comes in two versions, a taller boot along with a mid level boot. I prefer the high type myself, since I am lucky to discover the deepest snowbanks when I’m outdoors, and hate getting snow creeping over of my boots. Both versions are plenty warm and dry, and certain to stay warm at temps as cold as ten degrees Fahrenheit. Does anyone want to be outside when it gets any colder than that, anyway? These affordable work boots are really perfect for any job. I would challenge anyone to find a better outdoor work boot than these. Trust me when I tell you these boots have made my outdoor job far less unpleasant during our snowy winters.

So, these days, I almost find myself saying, “Bring on the snow, I could handle anything!” I stop myself short of truly wishing for this, but at the very least since I got my Hoser Classic Muck boots I know I can handle any outdoor weather thrown my way. At the conclusion of the day, my feet remain as warm and dry as they were when I first left for the day. They’ve a terrific outsole that can grip in any slippery conditions. The durable construction ensures that I will have them keeping me warm for years to come. Which can be convenient, since I’ve lots of years going before I can retire!
